MASC's mission is to support Manitoba farmers by providing unique insurance, targeted lending, and access to agricultural services.

In 2024/25, we increased our lending limits as well as the Young Farmer Rebate. These increases directly benefit the next generation of Manitoba farmers, making the costs of establishing, managing, and expanding their operations more affordable.

In 2023/24, we made AgriInsurance more flexible with an expansion of the Contract Price Option and more stable with the introduction of a cap to limit year-to-year changes in premium rates. We streamlined processes to enable faster claim payments and loan approvals. We also adopted technologies that make doing business with MASC more accessible and convenient.

Throughout 2022/23, MASC steadfastly pursued its vision to strengthen its place as a trusted partner in Manitoba’s agriculture industry. With hard work, dedication, careful planning, and effective communication with its clients and partners, MASC will continue to prove itself a robust ally to our clients and stakeholders.

MASC’s vision is to deliver exceptional public value by providing unique risk management solutions, targeted lending products, and other land-based programs. In 2021-22, our commitment to that vision impacted all aspects of our work in supporting Manitoba producers.

MASC brought more services to the myMASC online portal, and focused on the safest and most efficient ways to interact with Manitoba producers in 2020 and beyond.

MASC is adapting and rising to the challenges that face our clients and the agricultural industry. We continually strive to provide exceptional value in our products and services with detailed planning in our advancements, careful refinement of our programming, and genuine, impactful collaboration in our engagements.

MASC is growing alongside agriculture in Manitoba. Our lending portfolio is increasing, and it’s helping our clients, particularly young farmers, manage their finances and expand their operations.

Record crop yields and stable commodity prices have contributed to another successful year for Manitoba farmers.

As incoming Chair of MASC’s Board of Directors, I am proud to lead MASC’s present and future efforts in support of the Minister of Agriculture’s mandate to fortify the agricultural sector as a key economic driver in the province.

Changes in the agriculture industry over time have been staggering, as reflected in the increased size of operations, the dollars of investment required, and the new approaches that are necessary to succeed. This past year, MASC also experienced significant change.

Strong land values, combined with exceptionally low interest rates, resulted in a record $155 million in new loans. It is assuring to know that rural Manitobans put such trust in MASC’s programs.
